MOUNTAIN POLICIES

  • Skating, sledding, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are free and allowed any time!

  • Unattended children may be denied access to the lift.

  • Human powered uphill travel on the ski hill is allowed only when the lift is not running.

  • Motorized use is not permitted.

  • As a community park, Kendall Mountain is a smoke and vape free zone.

  • No alcohol or dogs are allowed at the ski hill.


COVID-19 POLICIES

Kendall Mountain Ski Area is committed to providing the safest possible environment for our guests. To help us achieve this goal we ask that all guests read the following COVID-19 related information prior to arrival at the Ski Area. Your cooperation with all COVID-19 protocols will not only assist Staff with daily operations but will also aid in our efforts to stay open for the entirety of the season!

Please be sure to check State and Local COVID-19 requirements prior to booking or arrival at the Ski Area. State or Local guidance in addition to Kendall Mountain Ski Area guidelines are subject to change at any time.

COMMITMENT TO CONTAINMENT

  • All guests must wear a mask in public places.

  • All guests must physically distance when feasible.

  • We ask that all guests do their best to limit group sizes and remain in households/cohorts they arrived in.

  • Isolate yourself and do not ski if you have symptoms or test positive.

  • We encourage all guests to review and complete self-assessment checklist prior to arrival.  

VISITOR SELF-ASSESSMENT

Prior to arrival at the Ski Area, please complete the following self-assessment, if you are displaying symptoms please do not visit the Ski Area, we will be happy to issue a refund and accommodate your situation.

1. Do you have a cough, shortness of breath, or difficulty breathing?

2. Do you have any of the following symptoms?

  • Fever

  • Chills

  • Repeated shaking with chills

  • Muscle pain

  • Headache

  • Sore throat

  • New loss of taste or smell

If you answered yes to any of the above, stay home and call your medical provider.

OPERATIONS PROTOCOLS

  • All guests are required to wear masks and physically distance.

  • This includes all indoor and outdoor public spaces; masks are not required when you are actively engaged in skiing or riding.

  • Ensure physical distancing in all public indoor and outdoor areas. This includes the lift line and the chair lift!

  • The Base Lodge will remain closed except for restrooms (exterior entrance only) and rentals (by appointment only in the loft).

  • Limited concessions, ice skate rentals and lift ticket pickup are available at the Lift Shack.

  • Skiers arriving without a reservation can purchase on their phones by scanning a QR code to access the Kendall ecommerce site (subject to availability).

  • Familiarize yourself with the use prevention tools like Exposure Notifications.

  • Familiarize yourself with Local Quarantine requirements in case of exposure.

  • State and Local orders that require individuals who test positive for or have been exposed to COVID-19, while in Colorado, may require guests to extend their stay at their own expense to complete isolation or quarantine requirements.

  • Check regularly what dial level San Juan County currently is in and what that means. Out-of-state visitors keep in mind that capacities may vary across counties and resorts. 

TICKET & SEASON PASS POLICIES

  • Due to COVID-19, daily capacity at Kendall Mountain is being capped at 250 participants daily.

  • Daily lift tickets are available in limited quantities, and by advance online purchase only. This includes free tickets for children 5 and under. We strongly encourage purchasing your tickets well in advance of your trip to ensure your spot on the mountain.

  • Day tickets are eligible for refunds if cancellations are made a minimum of 48 hours in advance of your reservation date. Please allow up to 30 days for a credit to appear on your card statement.

  • Season pass holders enjoy reservation-free skiing every day we are open!

  • Should the ski area be closed for more than 7 operating days due to COVID-19, season pass prices will be pro-rated and partial refunds issued at the end of the season. Refunds and discounts on season passes are not available for other reasons.

  • Season passes can be purchased before opening day at Silverton Town Hall, 1360 Greene Street, or by calling 970-387-5522 ext. 0.

RENTAL INFORMATION 

  • Ski and Snowboard rentals will be available by pre-paid online reservation only, with scheduled appointments.

  • If customer does not arrive within 5 minutes of a scheduled appointment time the reservation may be forfeited with refund consideration.

  • Rental technicians will allow entry through the upstairs rental door only for those with rental reservations at their designated time, this door will remain locked for any other purposes.

  • A maximum of 5 people is allowed in rental loft at a time (one rental tech and 4 customers)

  • Ice skates can be rented without a reservation on a first-come first-served basis at the lift shack.

  • Please read any updates from www.skikendall.com and additional signage on the rental loft door upon arrival in the event of modifications to protocols.
